I was writing an entry and ended up with stuff all over the place. I had thoughts on Berlin as a new City that we have not been to before, thoughts on the amazing street art scene here as well as my thoughts on David Bowie's time in Berlin and the pivotal Berlin Trilogy of albums he wrote and part recorded here.
So, I have split it up and this is the Street Art part. More on the rest later on.

Berlins history seems to guarantee a steady flow of the worlds fringe & disaffected. The strong art, Club & music scene along with the World's best street art all seem to fit nicely together into a broader accepting; if not actively interested or participating amalgam. There are many collaborations yet one I found particularly interesting. It is the Urban Nation which opened a Museum space to the powerful theme of “UN–DERSTAND THE POWER OF ART AS A SOCIAL ARCHITECT“. That theme resonates with us. This opening coincided with many street murals in and around the Museum.
The website features a map with pins that showcase heaps of great Street Art. We checked out the street art rather than the Museum.
There is just so much amazing street art here particularly close to where we are staying in Schöneberg and neighbouring Kreuzberg. The Museum is in Schöneberg, just 2 U-Bahn stops from where we are staying.
The Wall itself became a great canvas here as it came down artists from all over the world came to document and lend their support to the moment in time. The East Side Gallery is a 1.3km stretch of the wall dedicated to that.
