Back in our spiritual home

This is the place we long for when away from it. There is no place that speaks to rejuvenation, contemplation or ice-creamation more than this. It's only been 2 nights and well less than 48 hours on the ground here, yet the rejuvenating quality of this place, for us; I can feel it doing its work on us, for me certainly. I needed this break, as did K, but I was dragging my sorry ass to the finish line study wise for sure. COVID impacted my sense of meaning for the study, and it was a slog for a couple of years.

We have been excited to see our Italian Familia for ages; we have been away from them and this place for too long. Enza is in England visiting her Mum and will be back at the weekend. As always, we were greeted by Paolo, the effervescent smile is the warmest welcome you could ever imagine and we felt immediately immersed.

Some time on the terrace, looking out over the Valley of the Arno River (Valdarno) is perfection in our world, along with a great deal of reading by the pool, food and coffee and ice cream. Always Ice-cream. I hope we can always seek out this place and this view from the hillside of Tuscany, where over the hill is Chianti.

We are here now for 3 weeks of rejuvenation and contemplation, helped by lots of ice creamation.
