Not Lost... Just Wandering

Paris is that kind of city. And this is that kind of holiday. We are sleeping when we want, eating when we want, even cows have more structure in their days than we do at the moment and we are loving it. Admittedly it doesn’t make for very interesting blog updates so lets see what we can offer those of you 9-5ers back in winterland living vicariously through the many holiday spam updates of your facebook friends (like i was till I became one!).
Do you want to hear about our shopping for my (belated, covid committed) 50th birthday present of a vintage watch? It meant going to my favourite “flea market” in Paris, Puces St Ouen, with its nine distinct markets within one, each designated to specific winding laneways that confusingly intersect and overlap so you are never entirely sure where you are. Typically the stuffed lions, zebras and peacocks means you are in Marche Paul Bert while the vintage records, fabrics and posters are a sign you are in Marche Dauphine.
Chris tripled his first edition album collection with the purchase of John Coltrane - A Love Supreme French pressing from 1965, Sketches of Spain - Miles Davis 1967 original and an origina French pressing of the second of David Bowies Berlin trilogy, part recorded in France; - Low. This kept him busy for hours while i got to wander all the other quirky markets.
Then we came back together to visit Marche Biron and the vintage watch sellers. A few interesting options presented themselves, but none were exactly what I wanted, and if I am honest, I am kind of loving the chase.
With no other purposeful activity, we can continue to crisscross this gorgeous city, stopping for the occasional ice cream or macaroon and hopefully stumble on the perfect watch.
